Meet the Maker:
Lisa Kouri
Lisa is a ceramic artist based on Vancouver Island, where the surrounding ocean and coastal landscape continually inform her work. Since 2016, she has explored clay through wheel-throwing, hand-building, and coil-building techniques, allowing each process to guide the final form. The rhythm of the tides, weathered shorelines, and shifting light find their way into her surfaces, textures, and organic silhouettes.
Rooted in mindfulness, Lisa approaches clay as both a material and a practice — working slowly, intentionally, and in conversation with the piece as it takes shape. She is drawn to the quiet balance between strength and softness, structure and spontaneity. Her ceramics are designed to be functional as well as beautiful, honoring the belief that everyday objects can elevate daily rituals.
